Each semester, we offer fun and engaging afternoon classes focused on the arts, faith & life skills. Students who are enrolled for Full Day at Streams of Hope attend all grade appropriate afternoon classes.
Homeschool families and half day Streams of Hope students are welcome to sign up for any or all of our afternoon classes.
Each class is $150/semester. If you would like to send your child to 4 afternoon classes (one each day) we offer a $50 discount for a total of 4 classes for $550/semester.

Students will take part in a fun, progressive team project which will satisfy their need to achieve. Repurposing a large volume of Lego blocks, students will plan a building project based on biblical themes or architecture. For instance, "Noah's Ark", “Tower of Babel”, "The Temple", “The Walls of Jerusalem”, “Solomon’s Palace”, etc. We will introduce power tools, the concept of blueprints, financial planning, and the division of labor. Students will have a great deal of fun, while learning practical life skills from a Christian worldview.

In this interactive class, students will work together to solve scientific problems. Students will participate in hands on learning activities that build and teach creativity, problem-solving, life skills, resourcefulness, patience, and curiosity.

"Project Based Learning (PBL) is an instructional methodology encouraging students to learn by applying knowledge and skills through an engaging experience. PBL presents opportunities for deeper learning in context and for the development of important skills tied to college and career readiness." Defined Learning
In this class, we will present students with real life experiences, like planning a vacation, starting a business, etc. and allow them to explore the ins and outs of what it takes to complete each project. Students will learn research skills, critical thinking, communication skills, and project & time management. Students will be allowed to choose from a list of approved projects and work as a group with minimal teacher involvement. Once the project is complete, students will present their learning in a capstone project.

Students will learn about safe food and kitchen sanitation practices, kitchen, food, and equipment preparation. They will learn a variety of knife skills and the true benefits of using a sharp knife, all while learning a wide range of cooking methods and time management. Students will also focus on food shopping, storage, presentation, and serving.

Does your child like to work with their hands and create projects? Have they shown interest in learning to sew?
In this beginner sewing class, they will explore fabric types, learn to hand sew, and become confident in using a sewing machine. They will gain an important life skill while making fun projects along the way.
Projects may include: stuffed animals, a tote bag, pillow case, Christmas stocking, a zippered pouch, and more!

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America. The game lends itself to youth development in combining memory, motor skills, trust and discipline. Beyond serving, and placing shots, students must stay cognizant of a three number scoring system, and a constantly changing player position. The rhythm and flow of Pickleball is good for the soul, and will naturally help students be more athletic and disciplined. It’s a sport they can start as young as seven, and play into their seventies.

In this class, students will learn about and create a Streams of Hope and Homeschool yearbook. They will explore journalism's history and ethics, as they compile a yearbook that will focus on the 23/24 school year at Streams of Hope (which will also include local homeschool memories). Students will learn about different writing styles, publication design, photography, and more. Students will be required to acquire advertising to fund the yearbook as well as complete work outside of class.
