Open Position: Classroom Assistant
For Immediate Hire
Grade Level: Mixed Grades
Hours:
Mondays through Thursdays 8:00am-3:00pm;
Fridays 8am-2pm
Wage:
Starting at $12/hour for up to 30 hours/week through June 1, 2024
Paid break and lunch
5 paid sick days during the academic school year
3 paid bereavement days during the academic school year
Discounted tuition for dependent children to be negotiated.
Classroom Assistant Responsibilities:
- Work one on one with students as needed, providing support in understanding and completing assignments.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
- Be sensitive to the work of the Holy Spirit to minister to students.
- Help students develop a Biblical worldview.
- Score daily student work, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
- Help classroom teacher ensure students are completing assignments thoroughly and on schedule by monitoring daily work.
- Monitor daily student break time to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
- Assist classroom teachers in monitoring lunchtime activities.
- Supervise students for short periods of time in the absence of the classroom teacher.
- Assist with student drop-off and dismissal procedures.
- Assist with special classroom projects as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Assist in other classrooms as needed, following directives from the Executive Director.
- Foster a sense of community by actively participating in school-wide events.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with students in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to the unique needs of each student.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to collaborate with teachers and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student success.
